The convexity exercise involved creating several iterative studies in plasticine to study volume, light, and shadow. It culminated with the carving of a 50 and 10 pound block of plaster to match my intended gesture.

Ultimately, the digital work had to relate to the physical world, with a functioning prototype being made in cast plastic.
